Hairy Model

On this nice, sunny Saturday morning, I was watching Zoey in a head-to-toe grooming session, which is usually a prelude to a long nap...for both of us. (I often take long naps shortly after waking up) I've been neglecting my sketchbook lately, so I thought I'd do a quick sketch, which turned into a series of sketches as he kept changing poses every several seconds. At first, I was a little annoyed, but then began to see it as a life drawing session with quick poses. The model was a bit hairy, but very obliging. After an hour or so, we took a nice, long, well deserved nap.

Ya know, I was looking at my cat last night thinking he would make a great model. He was sleeping on the love seat with his head upside down and tucked under his paw. I even made a note on my to-do list to draw him! After seeing your sketches of your hairy model I must do mine, too! Thanks for sharing these beautiful drawings and for the inspiration also!

Absolutely delightful and so well drawn. I really enjoyed the simplicity of your lines and how well the captured the kittie. If only mine would pose in something other than boring "meatloaf" positions.

You made this look like so much fun, I wish I had a cat to draw! They are all so great.

Awesome! The next to the last one particularly made me smile -- such a cat pose, and I'll bet it was a bit tough to render. I love the way you draw!

I have just found sketchblog sites in the last few days and only just stumbled on yours. The cat drawings are great. I have recently been adopted by a very smart b&w moggie and he never sits still for a minute for me to draw him properly, even when he is apparently fast asleep!
