anotherone

I never miss an opportunity to sketch, even when some would choose to read the Reader's Digest.

blind contour

athletic shoe viewed and drawn (lying on stomach) under the coffee table. For those who might ask (Mom and Wally) no, the shoe was not on a stomach, and no, I was not under the coffee table. It's a little boring. I'm sorry. But, boy did I nail the shape of that shoe, or what?!

Cat Scratch Fever

Couldn't resist capturing Bubby on my bed. And she couldn't resist changing positions. What a ham. The pen was running out of ink which made for a nice, scratchy drawing.

Fall Pastel

Pastel done on brown craft board, (scanned and some detail & lighting added in Photoshop just for the EDM). I buy these 5" X 8" X 1/2"thick "boards" with grommets and a shoe-lace-like tie, at Michael's (craft store); to do pastel paintings on and hang on door knobs and other cool hanging places.

Myeyes

EDM "eye" challenge. Did this sketch up in the bathroom with pastel pencils and dark grey pastel paper. I used a little chunk of a white Sennelier pastel stick to dot my eye. Get it? Dot my eye? hahahahahahhahahh

one foot in the grave

blind contour of foot
with interesting title.

more blind contour fun

I couldn't find anything interesting to bc draw while lounging on the bed (again)...so I tried drawing a face from my imagination. It strangely resembles me, which makes sense since I see my own face more often than anyone else's.

hulamp

I created this in Illustrator and added some effects in Pshop. This lamp is based on a photo we took through a shop window in Galveston, TX a couple of years ago.

still life with bathroom cleaners

Blind contour with typography and a little color added to calm the eye. This challenge made me mad, but I was in a bad mood anyway. Maybe that's why I selected these items to draw. But I like the way it turned out...so I'm in a good mood again. Thank you.

blind contour challenge

I did this blind contour drawing of a laundry basket while looking at the paper every now and then (cheating). Wow, that was even harder than not looking at the paper at all! Even so, it still looks pretty much like a blind contour drawing.

Flower Power

Another pastel inspired by my father's flower photos. I finished this one just before we moved last month. I wanted to try something larger than my usual 9" X 12". This one is 26.5" X 18.5". The pastels don't last long at this size!

EDM metal

Here goes. My first EDM challenge submission. It's a combination pen sketch, pastel, and photoshop manipulation. I think I overworked it a little.

I might have a slightly different goal in doing these drawings. While others write that they are practicing to produce more accurate and detailed drawings, I am delighted with the screwy results. Not that I try to be inaccurate (that would probably produce a more accurate drawing), but I like the "surprise element". Some are so wacky they make me laugh out loud...and that's got to be a good thing. These are a couple of my wackier ones.

blind contour fun

I haven't tried this since art school days (so long ago it was almost in a previous life). So, now I have a new obsession.
The blobs are when I stopped momentarily to think about where I was, and where I wanted to go...but did not lift the pen from the paper.

bad scan. One of these days I am going to figure out how to get my images and text to go where I want them to.

More sketches from me in another life.

Revised Illustrator sketch of me pestering Chloe per Linda's comment. Much better!

Flowers make me happy. I'm trying to be happy.

This is a photoshop manipulated image of a pastel painting I did. Lately, I've been experimenting with "regect" pastel sketches (which I have piles & piles of) that I might otherwise have pitched.
