Despite the challenges drawing this presented, overall my initial impression is that you succeeded very well, particularly with the head of the brush. When I looked more closely at the handle I could see how difficult depicting the angle would have been, not to mention the shading and texture here. I think you did an excellent job. You should be very proud of this effort. :o)
Those bristles are great. I can never figure out how people produce fur, velvet... and now bristles. And the handle colour is beautiful, and conveys translucence very well. Very good job.
Thank you for your comments. I used pastel pencils on regular drawing paper, and a kneeded eraser and pinky finger to blend and remove color. After scanning...I created the reflection in Photoshop.
